MarineIT / Subscription
Subscription
Seats for your desk. Priced on the shape of it.
What a seat includes
One rate. Not a platform fee and six modules.
Most voyage systems quote a licence, then a module for communication, then an implementation fee, then a support tier. A MarineIT seat is one number, and everything below is inside it.
Communication and the commercial book
M.Com and M.Chart on one database — parsing, the voyage record, estimation, execution and commercial finance. There is no separate module to license later.
Dialogue through to reports
Dialogue, market, fixture, post-fixture, freight and hire, risk, accounting and reports. A seat is not restricted to one stage of the voyage.
Live data behind every figure
Lloyd's particulars, Netpas distances, Tideform bunker prices and StormGlass weather, each field keeping its own source. Your own market reports are read as they arrive.
Ten widgets for the role
Each user builds their own screen from the widgets their role carries, and it stays as they left it. Configuration is not a professional-services line.
Updates as they ship
New capability arrives on the subscription rather than as a version you buy. Agents are released progressively across the platform in the same way.
People who know the trade
Support from a desk that can read a charter party, not a queue that asks you to reproduce it. Named contact for the account from day one.
No platform fee, no per-voyage charge, no charge for the data feeds behind an estimate — Lloyd's, Netpas, Tideform and StormGlass are part of the seat.
Request a subscription
Six details, one reply.
Company name, number of users, the contact person and their mobile, a work email and where you are based. That is enough to quote the seats properly rather than send you a range and a meeting invitation.

How seats work
A seat is a desk, not a licence key.
Role decides which widgets a user can place, what they are permitted to approve and which numbers they are measured on. It never decides where anything lives — which is why covering a colleague on leave does not mean learning a second application.
Seats are named rather than concurrent, and can be reassigned when someone joins or leaves. A read-only seat is available for auditors, banks and non-executive directors at a reduced rate.
You should pay for the desks that use it, not for the size of the fleet.
What each seat carries
Chartering seat Cargo marketplace, tonnage board, quick and detailed estimation, negotiation pipeline, recap parsing and fixture. Every estimate benchmarked against the nearest Baltic route as it is built.
Operations seat Voyage execution board, exceptions, laytime and demurrage, NOR and SOF capture, PDA and FDA approval, port calls, bunker stems and consumption against warranty.
Finance seat Settlement by voyage, freight and hire, disbursements against estimate, claims, exposure and the live P&L. Posting into your ledger stays where it is.
Management seat Exposure, voyage result, utilisation, performance against the market, approvals and counterparty limits — read from the same records the desks work in.
Seat bands
The rate moves with the number of seats.
Pricing is quoted against the band your desk falls into and the desks you are covering. We will put the number in writing after the details below, not after three meetings.
A single desk
One broking or owning desk getting off spreadsheets. Standard seat rate, monthly or annual.
Two or three desks
Chartering with operations, usually finance shortly after. Band discount applies from the sixth seat.
A full commercial floor
All four desks, multiple offices or trading entities. Volume terms and a named implementation contact.
Group deployment
Several entities on one book, or a fleet operator with regional offices. Terms agreed against the deployment rather than the headcount.
Commercial terms
The parts a finance director asks about first.
Per named user, per desk. Seats can be reassigned between people; they are not concurrent licences.
Monthly or annual in advance. Annual carries a discount against the monthly rate.
At any time, charged pro rata to the end of the current term. Seats added mid-month are not charged for the month they start in.
At renewal, with notice. We do not charge for a seat nobody is using through a term.
Onboarding, historical fixture import, configuration, updates and support. There is no separate platform or implementation fee.
Yours. Exportable at any time, and returned in full if you leave. Nothing you put in is used to train anything.
Currency, payment terms and contract length are confirmed on the quotation. Nothing here changes mid-term: a rate agreed at signature holds for the term it was agreed for.
Onboarding
Four weeks, and the first one asks nothing of your desk.
Onboarding is included in the seat rate. It is done by the people who built the system, not resold as an implementation project.
Accounts and parsing
Users created per desk with the permissions the role carries. M.Com starts parsing your inbox from day one, so the feed has substance before anyone is asked to change how they work.
Your fleet and history
Vessels, counterparties and historical fixtures imported, so benchmarks and vessel performance carry over rather than starting empty.
Desks configured
Each user builds their own screen from the widgets their role carries. Approval thresholds and counterparty limits set with management.
Live on real voyages
The desk works its own cargoes in the platform, with us alongside for the first fixtures and the first claim file.
Being straight about it
What a subscription does not cover.
A vendor who will not tell you where their product stops is a vendor you will find out about later, usually in the third month. These are the boundaries, and they are deliberate.
Every one of these is a decision, not a gap we are hoping you will not notice.
Outside the seat
A general ledger. Statutory reporting, ledgers and audit stay in your accounting system. We do commercial finance and stop at the posting.
Trades other than dry bulk. Tankers, gas and container are the next builds. We will tell you so in the first ten minutes rather than sell you a roadmap.
Bespoke development. Requests that would serve one client and complicate the product for everyone else. Anything we build lands for every desk on the platform.
Third-party subscriptions you already hold. Where you have your own Lloyd's or Netpas arrangement, we connect to it rather than charging you twice.
Before you ask
The six questions we always get.
Is there a minimum?
One seat. Most desks start with chartering and add operations once the voyage record is carrying real fixtures.
Do we need to migrate anything first?
No. Parsing starts against your live inbox on day one; historical fixtures import alongside without interrupting it.
Does it replace our accounting system?
No, and deliberately not. This is commercial finance — settlement, exposure, claims and voyage result. Your ledger, statutory reporting and audit stay where they are.
What about tankers, gas and container?
Dry bulk is what we do properly today. The other trades are the next build rather than a configuration switch, and we would rather say so now than in the third meeting.
Can we trial it?
Yes — a scoped trial on your own circulars and voyages, agreed in writing with a start and end date, so it is a decision rather than an open-ended pilot.
Who owns the data?
You do. It is exportable throughout and returned in full on exit. It is never shared between clients and never used as training material.
